Homeless man found dead last week is buried in Cork

Alan Murphy was found on Dawson Lane, near Leinster House at 7am last Friday

Alan Murphy, the homeless man who died after a fall in Dublin city centre last week, was buried yesterday, following a funeral Mass in Courtbrack, near Blarney, Co Cork.

Mr Murphy, who was in his mid-30s, was found on Dawson Lane, near Leinster House at 7am last Friday. His death is not being treated by gardaí as suspicious.

He had been occasionally spoken with by organisations working with the homeless since last December.

The family and the celebrant of the Mass, Fr Micheal Ó Loinsigh, asked that the media not attend yesterday’s service.
