Gardaí have sealed off an area in Co Donegal after the discovery of a man's body.

The man, who was in his 40s and from the Burnfoot area, was found at Carnashannagh today.

The scene has been sealed off pending a forensic examination, and the man's body has been taken to Letterkenny General Hospital for postmortem.

It is not known yet whether he had suffered injuries.

“He hadn’t been seen for a few days and people were worried about him,” said one local resident about the deceased today.

“The whole area is in a state of shock. He [the man] was well-known in the area.”
