Gardaí in west Cork seized over €25,000 worth of drugs in a raid on a cannabis factory  early this morning.

Gardaí in west Cork seized over €25,000 worth of drugs in a raid on a cannabis factory  early this morning.

Gardaí from Bandon raided a house in the Innishannon area at about 6am this morning.

Officers seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €26,000 and arrested a man and a woman.

The two - who are in their 20s - were brought for questioning to Bandon Garda station where they can be held for up to seven days.

Gardaí removed the plants and lighting equipment from the house for examination. The plants will be sent to the state laboratory in Dublin for analysis.
