Cullen announces €434m for non-national roads

Funding of €434 million for non-national roads was announced by the Minister for Environment Mr Cullen today.

Mr Cullen said total of €433.986 million represented €4,346 for every kilometre of non-national road in the State.

Schemes to benefit from the funding include the Lusk bypass, the Naas Ring Road, Enfield-Edenderry Road, the Castletroy distributor roads, the Trim-Dublin Improvement Scheme, the South Dublin Outer Ring Road, the Tramore Ring Road, the Wicklow Town Relief and Port Access Road, the Ballybeg Road, Waterford and the Outer Ring Road, also in Waterford.

"Despite increased pressure on the public finances, the record levels of funding for the non-national road network will continue in 2003," Mr Cullen said at the announcement in Waterford.
