Girl (17) dies after single vehicle crash in Co Meath

Man in 20s and second teenager were taken to hospital after incident near Drumree

A 17-year-old girl has died following a single vehicle crash in Co Meath on Thursday afternoon.

A man aged in his 20s was brought to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin where his condition was described as serious.

Another male aged in his late teens was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, Dublin although his injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.

The crash occurred on the R154 at Pelletstown, Drumree in Co Meath at about 4.40pm.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan where a postmortem will be carried out.

The road remained closed on Thursday night to allow Garda forensic collision investigators to examine the scene. Local diversions were put in place.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly anyone travelling on the road at the time who may have dash-cam footage.
