Gardaí issue appeal after death of boy (6) on Dublin road

Child was struck by van in Shankill and witnesses or drivers with dashcams urged to come forward

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a traffic collision in which a boy (6) was killed at Shankill, Co Dublin on Friday.

The child was struck by a van, which was travelling towards Shankill village, at the Hazelwood Estate at about 4.45pm. The boy was taken to Temple Street hospital following the incident but he died on Sunday.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information in relation to the collision or to any driverswith a dashcam who were in the area at the time to contact the Gardaí at Shankill on (01) 666 5900.
