Gardaí are not treating as suspicious the death of man whose remains were found in a hotel at the weekend.
The body of Daniel Marshall (25) was discovered at around 4am yesterday in the toilets of the Fitzwilliam Hotel on St Stephen's Green in Dublin.
The dead man was the son of well-known hairdresser David Marshall, many of whose clients are celebrities, and socialite and charity fundraiser Jackie Rafter.
Mr Marshall’s body was removed for a full post mortem, with toxicology tests expected to inform the examination.
The deceased, who has had addresses in previous years in Stillorgan, south Dublin, and also Dublin’s inner city, was known to gardaí.
He had several previous convictions, mainly for theft and public order offences.
At a court case last year where he pleaded guilty to possession of stolen aftershave, Judge Anthony Halpin was told Mr Marshall had a history of drug addiction.
He had began to use heroin from the age of 21 and had tried to rehabilitate several times.
