THE TALLEST toy tower built in Ireland is to be constructed from 11,000 toy bricks in the shadow of the State’s tallest building on bank holiday Monday next.

The children of Cork are being invited to help with stacking the plastic bricks to create a model of the Elysian Tower in the garden of the multi-storey apartment building, which is next to City Hall in the city centre.

The challenge is being organised in aid of the Courtmacsherry Lifeboat and takes place from 11am to 6pm. The architects who designed the Elysian will be on hand to assist the children.

Visitors will be able to join in the construction of the model tower by buying toy bricks, with each contributor then entered into a raffle.
