GALWAY RACES

Every Wednesday from now until October, Harvey’s Point hotel in Donegal will host a dinner cabaret. The cabaret costs €66 per person including a five-course meal and entertainment such as Harvey’s Point own lord and lady of the dance – Raymond Sweeney and Stephanie McCarron – violinist Vladimir Jablokov and country singers Kathy Durkin and Jimmy Buckley. FROST/NIXON

University College Cork's Dramat Society is putting on Peter Morgan's play Frost/Nixon, beginning tonight and running until Saturday. The show chronicles the interviews that took place between David Frost and former President Richard Nixon in 1977. It runs at the Granary Theatre on Mardyke Parade and tickets are €9/€7. LAVERY EXHIBITION

Entitled ‘Passion and Politics’, this exhibition at the Hugh Lane gallery takes in the life of one of the 20th century’s most connected artists, and his wife Hazel. The gallery is open 10am-6pm, Tuesday-Thursday, 10am-5pm on Friday and Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays. Admission is free. See hughlane.ie

BALLYROBERT GARDEN

This County Antrim estate consists of 16 acres and is home to a variety of wildlife and traditional buildings. A plant centre and nursery specialising in cottage plants were established in 2001 and expert advice is usually on hand. The garden is open 10am-5pm, Monday-Saturday and 2pm-5pm Sunday.
