The McKillen development machine rolls ever onward in the south city centre with its property arm Oakmount poised to develop another clutch of tasty townhouses targeting fans of hipster cool design.

The latest luxury development by Paddy McKillen jr and Matt Ryan has secured planning for four houses on Morehampton Lane, off Herbert Park and midway between Donnybrook and Ballsbridge, on the site of four adjoining mews gardens which sold off market last year for €2 million. They back on to a strip of Morehampton Road houses currently in apartment and office use.

The contemporary scheme has been designed by hip architects firm ODOS, the outfit behind Oakmount’s latest apartment development on 55 Percy Place, where canal-side units are still available between €750,000 and €1.25 million.

The Morehampton Lane houses will also be the last word in urban cool of course. We know this how? Because there are beardy men wearing shorts and cycling bikes on the CGI images. Each will be set out over three floors extending to more than 3,000sq ft, with external terraces and landscaping to take advantage of southwesterly orientations.

The design incorporates high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling triple-glazed aluminium glazing across all the properties. The pricing will also be in line with Oakmount’s other high-end ventures in the area, and pitched at a heady €2 million-plus. Its One Percy Place scheme of three three-bed townhouses sold last year for more than €1.25 million apiece.

Not to worry, there’s time to save as the new scheme is currently out to tender and building hasn’t begun yet. When complete they will be for sale through Turley Property agents.
