Dalkey can be a little like Brigadoon, the mythical town that people never want to leave.

The owners, who are moving to take on another project, and get even more space for their family, say they want to stay in the area. “It’s safe; it’s lovely and quiet; the neighbours are brilliant; there are schools, shops . . . everything is in walking distance.
