Last chance to join 10,000 on Get Running course

Our eight-week course for new and returning runners has kicked off. More than 10,000 people have signed up to Get Running and are having the course delivered to them by email each week. There’s still time to register and take part along with the thousands of others who have taken a positive step to tackle their fitness but you’ll have to sign up today.

We're absolutely delighted with the response from readers and will be doing
everything we can to try to support you during the eight-week
programme.

Each week in this slot we'll have someone from The Irish Times writing about their experience of getting back into the exercise regime.

First up is Irish Times communities editor David Cochrane who, by his own admission, struggles to stick to his fitness resolutions.

Live session
If you've got your own doubts or questions don't worry, that's perfectly normal as well. Each week we'll be hosting a Get Running live session where we'll be answering questions and posting them online.

Coach Mary Jennings will also be joined by relevant experts from the worlds of physiotherapy, motivation and fitness to make sure we can give you the best advice possible.

Plenty of support
With so many people signed up to our first course there is plenty of support to be had from the other participants who are probably feeling just like you.
