The Government has agreed to hold a constitutional referendum to repeal the Eighth Amendment, the constitutional ban on abortion in Ireland. If the referendum is passed, the Government will then introduce a law to permit abortions up to 12 weeks on request, as well as in cases of rape, incest and fatal foetal abnormalities.

The Irish Times would like to hear from readers abroad about their views on the referendum. Do you agree or disagree with the proposals? How do they - and the current abortion regime in Ireland - compare to where you live? How do you feel about not being able to vote in the referendum from overseas?
