Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following a single-vehicle crash in which a man (55) died in west Cork on Monday night.
The man was fatally injured when his car hit a wall at Faxbridge at about midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a GP after the emergency services were called.
Gardaí have not released the name of the man, who was the sole occupant of the car, until all next of kin are notified but he was living locally in the Clonakilty area.
The man’s body was removed on Tuesday morning and taken to the morgue at Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.
