A man in his 70s is in a critical condition in hospital following a collision in Galway city on Wednesday.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident which occurred at approximately 10am at Prospect Hill and involved a truck and a pedestrian.
The man was taken from the scene to University Hospital Galway where he is receiving treatment. His condition is understood to be critical.
The road at the site of the incident was closed into Wednesday afternoon pending examination by Garda forensic collision investigators. Traffic diversions were put in place.
