Fairness, or otherwise, has little to do with it: some bands are often just overlooked.

One such is The Flaws, an Irish act who released a blistering pop/punk debut album (Achieving Vagueness) in 2007, followed it in 2010 with the moderately good Constant Adventure, and then promptly disappeared from view.

Cue a “period of transition” – a euphemism for far too many things to list – and a gradual falling back into making music.

Springtime for The Flaws, then, is a welcome return not only to music but to form. From start to end, this is a collection of superb pop/punk tunes, with every track a potential radio hit.

Songs such as Going Ariel, That's What You Get, Animals, Don't Lie, Water Riots and Shake your Bones rattle with vigour, melody, and the sound of a band ready to roll. Again.
