Genre: Singer / Songwriter
Label: Proper Records

He may have recently turned 70 but as the title of Paul Brady’s 15th album conveys, he’s not quite ready for retirement.

In many ways, the Strabane man's first album since 2010's Hooba Dooba neatly references all the eras of his career; the sumptuous, bluesy title track, the gentle acoustic strum of Harvest Time, the distinctly Irish intonations of Maybe Tomorrow and his superlative way with a folk song, as head on the refreshingly simple arrangement of Lord Thomas and the Fair Ellender.

Of course, that means there's a gap for the schmaltzy MOR pop-rock fare in his canon, too – heard here on I Like How You Think and I Love You But You Love Him.

Overall, it's eminently easy listening that might benefit from an occasional agitation. Paulbrady.com
