SÉAMUS FOGARTY
Short Ballad for a Long Man Domino
“As a young man I was never one for sitting still at school / When I went to London Town I was paid to play the fool …” Swinford native Séamus Fogarty channels the spirit of another Irish exile in the British capital, Shane MacGowan, when he gives the walls a talking on his debut single for Domino Records. By the way, don’t slam your tablet against the wall and curse the name of Steve Jobs’s living descendants (as I did) if you think the sound isn’t working. The audio doesn’t kick in till about the one-minute mark.
KESHA
Woman RCA
The second track released from Kesha’s (the $ in her name seems to have gone walkabout lately) comeback album
Rainbow
is a furious feminist pop anthem composed, she says, in response to Donald Trump’s leaked Access Hollywood tapes and subsequent, unfathomable election to the office of president of the United States. The track, as they say on TV, contains strong language from the outset.
CHANCE THE RAPPER ft. YOUNG THUG
Big Bs
When Soundcloud recently announced that it is in serious financial difficulties, Chance the Rapper promised to do his part to ensure the German company remains “here to stay”. The first fruit of that pledge is this collaboration with Young Thug, which he shared exclusively on the online audio platform. This track also contains strong language. But come on, you probably guessed that already.
