Bobbi Arlo has been revealed as the first of six acts bidding to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Bobbi, who has featured on Irish singer Niall Horan’s personal playlist, entered the race with her song Powerplay. It follows a busy 2024 for the performer, who was named Gay Times & Coca-Cola Artist of the Year and played several festivals across the Ireland and Britain.
Bobbi, who has sold out shows in Dublin and played Spain’s Primavera festival, also had her track Feel It nominated for Song of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Music Awards.
She will be on the The Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1 on Monday when her song Powerplay will be played for the first time. The five other hopefuls will be revealed each day this week on D’Arcy’s show between 1-3pm when listeners can also hear their songs for the first time.

Last year, Ireland’s entrant Bambie Thug finished in sixth place with the song Doomsday Blue, which was Ireland’s best finish since 2000 and first top 10 finish since Jedward in 2011.
This year’s six Eurosong finalists will compete on February 7th on The Late Late Eurosong Special to determine who will go on to represent Ireland at Eurovision which is taking place in Basle, Switzerland, in May.
