A young man has died after being stabbed during a row in a Dublin hostel on Wednesday morning.
The 24-year-old victim suffered serious injuries when he was apparently attacked by another man in the hostel on Harrington Street, Dublin 8 at around 4.45am on Wednesday morning.
A man, aged 41, was arrested and is currently being detained at Garda station in Dublin under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
It is understood the fatal assault took place during a disagreement between the men in one of the rooms in the early hours of the morning and the victim suffered several stab wounds.

He was taken from the scene to St James’s Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The dead man is understood to be from the Clondalkin area. Garda interviews with his suspected attacker were suspended earlier today while he received medial attention.
It is understood the suspect has several previous convictions.
The scene is currently preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and a postmortem will take place later on Wednesday, the Garda said.
