ICT managed services provider Trilogy Technologies Group has acquired cybersecurity and workspace virtualisation firm Zinopy Security.
The deal, the value of which was not disclosed, will see the creation of a group with annual revenue above €20 million and will enable Trilogy to become a full service provider, offering virtualisation and cloud computing; IT security and risk management; mobility; and professional, managed and consulting services.
Zinopy Security's staff of 40 will join forces with Trilogy's 60-strong workforce and move to a new office in Park West in Dublin.
Trilogy, which has offices in Dublin and London, was established in 2009 by Edel Creely, Arthur Griffin and John Casey. The company entered the UK market in 2014 with the acquisition of London-based B2Lateral.
‘Transformational’
Ms Creely said the Zinopy deal would be “transformational” for her company.
“Trilogy is already Ireland’s leading provider of remote IT managed services and together the group is well placed to take advantage of the significant growth opportunities in managed IT services domestically and in the much larger UK market, where we now have new opportunities to build on our existing footprint,” she said.
“Digital transformation, cyber attacks and GDPR requirements have created greater awareness among boards of directors to ensure their businesses are adequately prepared and protected and we see strong growth opportunities in these areas for the enlarged group going forward.”
Zinopy was established in 2010 by chief executive John Ryan and Ger Coakley. In 2012, the firm acquired virtualisation and cloud computing firm Maxima, with the combined group trading under the Zinopy name.
Mr Ryan said the "time was right" to partner with Trilogy. "We look forward to a new chapter that is unfolding with Trilogy, and where our combined capabilities are helping us build a new force in managed IT services in Ireland and the UK," he said.
