Republic of Ireland international Anthony Pilkington has completed his move from Norwich City to Cardiff City, signing a three-year deal with the Welsh club.

The 26-year-old joined his new team-mates at training this morning having passed a medical and finalised a transfer believed to be worth in the region of €2 million to the Canaries.

It remains to be seen, however, whether he will be eligible to face Championship rivals and former club Huddersfield on Saturday after the paperwork was submitted to the league this afternoon.

Norwich boss Neil Adams has denied he forced the winger out of Carrow Road after an apparent row when Pilkington claimed on Twitter he was not injured having been left out of the squad for the opening game of the season against Wolves.

Adams had said the player missed training on the Friday before the game and though he was brought to the game he was not among the matchday squad.

“I think that what happened around the Wolves game is two plus two made 17 for some people,” Adams said today. “Thankfully, we resolved that. What is happening now since the weekend with the player is nothing to do with that. It was a misunderstanding.

“I would never take an injured player to a game, that is why he travelled with us. He wasn’t on the bench but to reiterate the interest from other clubs right now is not a consequence of that episode.

“I’ve said it all along but there are players here and some of them are more at the forefront of my thinking than others. It is really as simple as that.”
