Sir, – Further to Sarah Alyn Stacey's (Letters, November 9th) suggestion to exhibit the Book of Kells in Kells for the duration of the renovation of Trinity College's Old Library, perhaps now is the time for the Book of Kells to return to Kells permanently.
I’ve visited the Book of Kells and the Long Room on many occasions and it always appeared to me that Trinity has enough to attract visitors without it.
Having visited the excellent Museum of Country Life in Turlough Park, Co Mayo, I imagine something of a similar nature could offer a unique visitor experience, perhaps of what monastery life was like in Kells.
