Sir, – As is the case with many other parents of university-educated offspring, the postman is visiting my home daily at the moment with election literature for the forthcoming Senate election. As my adult children have no interest in casting their ballots, my small home shredder is working overtime destroying this literature.
I wonder what procedures are in place to ensure that only the intended recipient of the postal ballot will have their vote accepted if submitted. It would appear to me that anyone could have submitted my offsprings’ votes if they so desired. Luckily I have shredded the ballots so no illegal votes will come from my household. – Yours, etc,
