Sir, – Fintan O’Toole’s contention that Irish voters keep doing the same thing and expect different results is probably the manifestation of his cynicism toward Irish politics (Opinion & Analysis, December 3rd).
Perhaps it is time for him to refrain from recounting the bitter lessons of the past and stop being prematurely disappointed in the future. – Yours, etc,
