The arrests come just two weeks after garda confirmed that they had recovered the gun used to shoot Mr Falsey at his rented home in Carrigaline on August 3rd.

Ballistic tests on a handgun recovered by gardai in a wood near Watergrasshill in North Cork earlier this month confirmed it was the weapon used to shoot Mr Falsey.

This morning's arrests are the first by gardai investigating the death of Mr Falsey which gardai believe is linked to his involvment in the drugs trade in Cork.
