Six people have died in road crashes since Friday.
The latest victim was a man (22) who died in a crash in Co Donegal last night. Four people were also hurt in the crash when a car left the N56 at Kill, Dunfanaghy and ended up in a ditch shortly before 9pm.
The injured were taken to Letterkenny Hospital.
Elsewhere in Co Donegal, a man died yesterday when his motorcycle collided with a car near Donegal town at 10.45am. He was named today as Edward Connolly (33) from Strabane, Co Tyrone.
Gardaí last night named a man (78) who died on Friday morning in Carlingford, Co Louth. Edward Henry from Greenore, Carlingford died when his car collided with an articulated vehicle in Greenore.
Gardaí also named the man (18) who died in Nenagh, Co Tipperary, yesterday as Kieran Mc Loughlin of St Conlans road, Nenagh. He was hit by a car on Sarsfield Street in Nenagh at 4.30am yesterday.
On Saturday night Proinnsias Nolan (17) of Lehanagh, Castleblakeney, Galway, and Thomas O Beirne (56) of Lowville, Ahascragh, died in a three-car collision near Ballinasloe.
The victims died at the scene of the collision at Killure, on the Ballinasloe-Ahascragh road.
Three other occupants of the vehicles were injured and taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
A total of 22 people have died on the State's roads during September - still one of the lowest levels for any month since 2000.
