The trade union Siptu has served notice of industrial action on Aer Lingus as part of an ongoing row over pensions.

Siptu has said this will involve staggered two-hour work stoppages commencing on Monday, October 1st. The union said the stoppages would take place on a location-by-location basis.

The union has already served notice for similar industrial action on the Dublin Airport Authority, which runs the country’s three main airports at Dublin, Cork and Shannon.

Talks at the Labour Relations Commission aimed at resolving the pensions dispute at Aer Lingus and the Dublin Airport Authority were adjourned earlier this week. This was to allow staff of the commission to draw up a set of proposals aimed at securing a resolution.
