The need to have a leg amputated just below the knee would be a pretty devastating blow for most people; the basic premise of this book is that it was more devastating to Heather Mills than most, since at the time of her motorbike accident and subsequent amputation she was earning her living as a model. If you can accept the logic of that, you'll be delighted by Out on a Limb. The energy, courage and humour displayed in its pages are beyond question; the work with amputees in "war torn Croatia" impeccable; the writing and general world view, alas, is "Cor, what a scorcher" tabloid from start to finish.
