The Dublin-born midfielder suffered an injury when playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Brighton on Monday.

The nature of the injury has not yet been revealed by either the FAI or Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Kennedy has not played for his country since suffering injury in Niall Quinn's Sunderland testimonial.

The groin injury meant that the midfielder was unable to travel to Japan and South Korea.

Graham Barrett, who was also in action on Monday night, has shaken off a minor knock and is believed to fit to travel.

The squad will assemble at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Dublin Airport, at 12.00 noon on Sunday, with a training session scheduled for 2.30p.m in the AUL Complex at Clonshaugh on Sunday.
