A jewellery collection offering a “chic” alternative to GAA jerseys was launched in Croke Park, Dublin today.

The Love Your County branded jewellery for male and female fans includes miniature county jersey charms, Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy cup charms as well as county cufflinks and dog tags.

One of the inspirations behind the collection was to provide fans with a “chic and alternative way to demonstrate allegiance to their county,” Kela Ledwidge of Dublin-based jewellery manufacturer TJH said.

“Both male and female fans can show their devotion to their county teams and the GAA, whether they are at work, school or play and look great,” she said.

Also included in the range are wrist and neck charms , sporting leather bracelets for bracelets and pendants, leather wristwear, and rings.

It is the first ever official GAA county range of jewellery and is timed ahead of the championship season. The manufacturer also plans to update it with “commemorative pieces” for fans in winning counties.

The manufacturer expects a strong demand for the jewellery abroad as well as locally.

Money from the sales for each county goes back the county team under a deal between the TJH and the GAA.

Prices range from €25 to €79 and the jewellery is available through some 75 retail jewellers and at gaajewellery.com
