All Ireland hurling finals
Tipperary and Kilkenny will battle to be the 2014 All-Ireland senior hurling champions on Sunday, September 7th at 3.30pm. It will be the fourth time in six years the two counties will meet at the final. Before the senior teams take to Croke Park, the minors, Kilkenny and Limerick, will play to decide who takes the All-Ireland minor title at 1.15pm.

Cape Clear Island hosts its annual storytelling festival , now in its 20th year, this weekend. Irish and international storytellers and musicians will perform at six different venues around the island. Events include a “Hear all the tellers”, heritage walk, set dancing work shop and storytelling concert.

The 25-foot tall grandmother starts her journey around Limerick today. Tomorrow, the giant granny will wake up at the Sarsfield Army Barracks and will spend the weekend exploring the city. The 85-year-old marionette will read stories of Limerick through her three day visit. About 200,000 people are expected to attend the free street theatre performance.

The Viking Triangle in Waterford city will host its first jazz festival weekend starting today. It will feature an eclectic mix of swing, New Orleans, Jazz-funk, bebop, big band and blues with 10 free gigs until Sunday. All performances will be held at outdoor and pub venues.

A Taste of West Cork
This food festival will showcase local artisan food producers and award winning chefs from today. There will be a traditional open air street food and craft market, cooking competitions, interactive workshops, food demonstrations and themed nights in restaurants. This year, events run from Clonakilty to Dunmanway, Bantry and Skibbereen. The festival continues until September 14th.
