A 45-year-old man was arrested after stabbing two gardaí with a knife at the Dublin City Council civic offices.

Gardaí this morning confirmed two members of the force received minor stab wounds during an altercation with a man at the council offices at Wood Quay, Dublin.

The attack occurred inside the premises on the afternoon of May 15th and the gardaí, from Kevin Street station, were hospitalised but discharged a short time later.

A Dublin City Council spokesman confirmed the incident occurred but declined to comment further, saying the matter was under investigation by gardaí.

A Garda spokeswoman said the man was released and a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
