A man and woman are due to appear in court tomorrow in connection with a €70,000 drugs seizure in Cork.

The pair were arrested by detectives from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Squad following the handover of a kilo of cocaine at Sallybrook in Glanmire at 2pm tomorow.

Gardai believe the drugs which had come from Dublin were destined for distribution in the local Cork market in the run-up to the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

The man, who is aged 56 and from Dublin, and the woman, who is aged 22 and from Cork city, were arrested and brought to Cobh and Midleton Garda Stations for questioning.
