A man aged 25 has been arrested by police investigating the murder of a Chinese restaurant owner.

It follows the release earlier on Sunday of a man aged 43 by police investigating the murder.

Nelson Cheung (65), was killed on Thursday after robbers forced his car off the road in a remote area of Northern Ireland.

It is believed his throat was cut, in front of his wife.

Two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, are among six people still detained, the PSNI said.

Mr Cheung ran the Double Value Chinese restaurant in Randalstown, Co Antrim.

He had been travelling home from his business shortly after midnight on Thursday when he was stabbed after being intercepted by two vehicles on a rural road.

His wife, Winnie, was in the car when the attack took place on the Caddy Road.

She managed to escape, was treated in hospital for knife wounds and has since been discharged.

Police believe the couple’s car was forced off the road by two other vehicles and that they were approached by a number of people before being attacked and robbed of cash.

Police said they do not believe the killing was racially motivated, and renewed appeals for anyone with information to come forward.
