A woman with 566 previous convictions has been fined €100 at Blanchardstown District Court for public drunkenness.
There was no appearance from Jennifer Armstrong in court.
Hearing that Armstrong has 566 previous convictions, Judge David McHugh said: “It’s a record”.
Armstrong (41) of no fixed abode, was charged with public drunkenness on the Lucan Road, Lucan, on January 7th, 2017.
Intoxicated
Garda Michael McLoughlin told Judge McHugh he responded to a call at 4pm and found Armstrong asleep on a bus on the Lucan Road.
He said he attempted to wake her up and found her to be intoxicated.
Garda McLoughlin said that when Armstrong did get up, she hit her head against the wall of the bus.
Sgt Maria Callaghan said Armstrong’s 566 previous convictions were mostly for public order offences.
“The poor lady. She seems to be in some difficulty,” the judge said, before fining her €100.
