The baby girl whose remains were discovered at a recycling facility in Co Wicklow earlier this month will be buried during a small ceremony on Friday.

The child, who was given the name Alannah by officers working on the case, was discovered at the Greenstar waste recycling facility near Bray on May 4th.

Gardaí have appealed for the mother of the child to come forward and to seek medical attention.

The circumstances surrounding the child’s death remain unclear.

She will be buried at Redford Cemetery in Greystones, Co Wicklow, following a small graveside service at noon.

It will be celebrated by Monsignor Enda Lloyd and will be attended by members of An Garda Síochána.

Postmortem

A postmortem concluded there was nothing to suggest deliberate injuries were inflicted on the infant.

It also found the child had been born some weeks earlier than initially thought.

Searches of the facility, which processes waste from all over Ireland, were conducted to help identify Alannah's origins.
