Army makes safe bomb components in Phibsboro

Restrictions placed on buses departing from and arriving to nearby depot

Bomb components were made safe by an Army bomb disposal team in Phibsboro, Dublin, on Thursday afternoon.

The Garda requested the Defence Forces to attend the scene at Broadstone, in the north Dublin city area, after the parts were discovered.

For reasons of public safety, restrictions were placed on buses departing from and arriving at the adjacent depot.

The bomb disposal team arrived at Broadstone at 12.30pm.

The components were certified safe at the scene and then handed to gardaí to assist them with their investigation into the circumstances.

The scene was declared safe at 1.30pm.
