A man accused of flashing at two women in a hospital forgot to button up after a toilet visit, a court has heard.
Edward Crozier was remanded into custody charged with two counts of indecent exposure and making a threat to kill.
The accused, in his fifties, was arrested at Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital early on Sunday morning.
Police opposed bail at Belfast Magistrates’ Court and claimed he could re-offend.
A PSNI constable said Mr Crozier, of College Green in Belfast, had been in the accident and emergency department.
“He exposed himself to two females in the waiting area,” she claimed.
Defence counsel Jonathan Connolly told the court his client denied the offences which also include allegedly threatening to kill a police officer.
Mr Connolly added: “He would say there was no intention in terms of any exposure.
“My instructions are he had to use the toilet as he said he was feeling unwell. “He came out again and didn’t realise he wasn’t buttoned up.”
Refusing bail, District Judge Ken Nixon cited the risk of re-offending.
Mr Crozier was remanded in custody to appear again by video-link on June 22nd.
