Clonmel Borough council will meet this evening to discuss whether the town will reverse its refusal to host the Hong Kong Special Olympics team in the light of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) virus.
The meeting follows a plea from the Minister for the Environment, Mr Cullen, to the mayor of Clonmel, Mr Niall Dennehy, for the council to reconsider its decision.Mr Dennehy claims he has not received the written request.
The meeting comes two days before the Government's expert SARS committee's next scheduled discussion on whether the Special Olympics is to go ahead.
