Siptu's plans to redevelop its iconic Liberty Hall building have been appealed to An Bórd Pleanála.
At least two appeals were lodged with the board by this evening's closing date, including one from Irish Life.
Appeals were anticipated after Dublin City Council gave approval for its demolition of the 17-storey Eden Quay tower subject to some 20 conditions last month.
The trade union said it would begin the process of preparing its response to the appeals for An Bórd Pleanála.
"Siptu notes the fact that a number of appeals have been lodged against Dublin City Council's decision to grant planning permission for the redevelopment of Liberty Hall," the union's general secretary Joe O'Flynn said in a statement.
The new structure would be 22 storeys and about 100m high and would include office space, a conference auditorium and a rooftop heritage area.
