Go Kids:This column has been a long-time fan of the Street Performance World Championships – because it's got everything for a brilliant day out and over the last couple of years the sun has shone as well which has been the icing on the cake.

Now in three venues around the country the event offers the chance to see the best street entertainers in one small park. Spend the day wandering between shows featuring zombie puppets, deadly stunts, fire-eaters and contortionists from all over the world – and it’s free.

It’s all very child-friendly, you just sit on the grass to see the show. Donations – even a few coins – are asked for at the end of each performance. You are also asked to vote for the act that you consider the best.

A special event this year is the Street Performance World Championships Where’s Wally world record attempt which will see thousands of festival-goers dressed as Wally in red and white stripy tops and hats and round glasses in an attempt to become the largest gathering of Wallys ever!
