SHORTS:VIRGIN Atlantic said this week it is putting warnings on weepy films shown during flights because of concerns that emotional passengers might burst into tears.

The "weepy warnings" will initially appear on the Hollywood romantic dramas Water for Elephantsand Just Go With It, flashing up at the start to advise passengers that the movie has the potential to cause tears. Virgin said it took the decision after a passenger survey found that 55 per cent agreed their emotions became heightened during a flight.

Forty-one per cent of men surveyed admitted they hid under blankets to hide their tears, said Virgin.
