Wicklow hike
If you’re an active hillwalker, you can join An Óige Hillwalkers Club’s 19km hike tomorrow. The walk – the North Wicklow Moorings – takes in Athdown Forest, Seefin, Seefingan, Kippure, Loughs Bray, Liffey Valley and Kippure Bridge. Hike leaders can turn away anyone who is inadequately equipped. Transport is by private bus (€12) from Burgh Quay, in Dublin, at 10am, with a second pick-up point beside the pond in Seán Walsh Park, on the Tallaght bypass. See hillwalkers club.com.
Photography walk
Hilltoptreks and Killruddery House, in Co Wicklow, have teamed up to show you how to get the best from your camera when you’re walking. The course, on Sunday, April 18th, includes an introduction to landscape photography, a guided walk, lunch and entry to Killruddery’s grounds. It costs €65. 087-7849599, hilltoptreks.ie.
Horsemanship
Irish Horsemanship is holding a training fun day in Adare, Co Limerick, tomorrow week, March 14th. If you’re interested in learning how to train horses, you can meet other horsey folk and watch some training. There will be a question-and-answer session, and if you bring a horse you’ll get an hour-long individual lesson. The day runs from 11am until 5pm. Wear warm clothes and bring waterproofs.
