Walks and talksThe 53 Degrees North Walking Festival from April 11th-17th will feature an exhibition, talks and, of course, walks.
On Wednesday, Adrian Hendroff, author of From High Places: A Journey Through Ireland’s Great Mountains, will give a talk and a visual display aimed at promoting Ireland’s mountain heritage. On Saturday, mountaineer Chris Bonington will give a talk at the Blanchardstown branch of the store (booking essential). Walk of the millThe Millstreet Walking Festival takes place in the Co Cork town next weekend, April 9th-10th. There will be a selection of walks – easy, moderate and strenuous – on both days with entertainment in the evenings. The cost is €5 per person per walk or €10 per family. Long and the shortThe Ox Mountain Development Company is offering the opportunity to join in the South Sligo Walking Festival next weekend, April 9th-10th. There will be a choice of guided walks each day: short 1-2hrs (€5), medium 3-4hrs (€10), and long 5-6hrs (€15). Participants should be properly equipped.
