Ecoxpower
Back in the day, there was hardly a bike without a dynamo. Usually friction driven, they often produced a soft, ineffectual, flickering glow. This is the 2013 manifestation: a light and gadget recharger all-in-one. The Ecoxpower comes with integrated front and rear lights as well as a USB recharger for your smartphone, MP3 player or bike GPS. It has an internal battery and you need to get up to 5kph (walking pace) to get the juice flowing. About 90 minutes at 18kph will fully charge the Ecoxpower battery, but you might be spent.

Drift HD Ghost Camera
Thrill seekers on wheels, waves or snow often like to film their gravity-defying chops. Drift’s Ghost has much to recommend it: the camera is neat and tough, waterproof straight out of the box, with no need for additional casing. Even the built-in viewing screen is behind Gorilla Glass. A clever touch is the wireless remote for easy shooting, with bright LED displays to let you know when you’re rolling or not.

Band Car Charger
The car has become a mobile charging station for many of us, but the hardware itself is usually clunky and ugly. The Band Car Charger from Tylt brings a cool aesthetic to the game. With a flat, silicone ribbon design which has a pair of USB slots and comes in a range of colours, these are smart and practical. The generous cable means easy access no matter where the car power socket is and you can charge two devices at once. Band Car Charger $40 (€30), from tylt.com
