The apartments in the South Strand block of the Rockabill development in Skerries, Co Dublin, have views of the south Beach, St Patrick, Shenick and Colt Islands and 19th century Rockabill lighthouse, which is four nautical miles north east of Skerries Harbour.

The units in the Holmpatrick block across the landscaped courtyard have less stunning views but are cheaper in price.

Located on the site of the demolished Holmpatrick Hotel and nursing home, the Heritage Properties development designed by O'Mahony Pike architects is a mix of 52 one, two and three-bed apartments.

This final phase of 25 comprises two one-beds from £145,000 (184,112), 21 two-beds from £155,000 to £250,000 (196,809 to 317,435) including a number of two bed penthouses from £195,000 (247,598) and two three-beds from £345,000 (438,150). The show apartments are only now open to the public, as the first phase was sold off the plans.

The homes are on sale through Hooke & MacDonald and will be on view from today.

A significant proportion of the beachfront units have private terraces, and occasional nautical touches like portholes in the bathrooms.

The south-west facing deck areas overlook the courtyard which will be landscaped.

The Holmpatrick building is designed to blend with the existing terraced houses at street level. There will be parking bays on the street in front of the Holmpatrick block and an underground car-park beneath the central courtyard.

Heritage Properties is also responsible for Smithfield Village apartments in Dublin city.

The two-bed 750 sq ft show apartment in the Holmpatrick block costs £160,000 (203,200) and has a substantial livingroom, with two large timber windows with deep low sills. The kitchen off this area is white Shaker-style with standard terracotta-effect tiling.

The larger bedroom overlooks the courtyard and has panelled fitted wardrobes.

The second bedroom could be used as a small double or large single and also has built-in wardrobes.

The bathroom comes with standard mosaic tiling and there is a hot press and tiny storage area off the hall.

The two-bed show unit in the South Strand block is 897 sq ft and costs £245,000 (311,150). It has a sheltered paved area to the front which could be made into a private space with potted shrubs and plants, and a decked area overlooking the landscaped courtyard.

The livingroom/kitchen is well proportioned with an impressive half glass-block/half window area with sea views.

The main bedroom has a shower en suite and walk-in wardrobe area with a slightly bigger storage area.

The three-bed 1,300 sq ft unit has an impressive balcony which can be accessed from the living area and the main bedroom. The main bedroom also has an en suite with a corner bath and the second bedroom has a shower en suite. The third bedroom is a good sized double.

Standard features include Gold Shield electric low-energy heating and full height tiling around showers and baths.
