Applewood Village in Swords, Co Dublin, is launching its second phase of 55 apartments today with prices starting at £119,995 (152,362 ) aimed at the first time buyer.

Last summer the initial launch of the scheme off the plans, which comprised a mix of 63 apartments, duplexes and townhouses, achieved sales of £15 million (19 million), according to the agents, Ross McParland. The entire development of 100 units will be completed this summer.

The development can be found by turning left at the end of North Street in Swords and continuing left along Balheary Road to the Motorola factory. Turn left here and the Applewood scheme is just past the first roundabout. Balheary Road can also be reached from the Ashbourne roundabout on the Belfast road. Close to Swords village, there are plans for a range of neighbourhood shops and services at Applewood.

Built by Drumloe Properties, there are three types of apartment in each of the low rise blocks - the 549 sq ft one-bedroom apartment, from £119,995 (152,362), the two bed 780 sq ft apartment from £133,995 (170,136) and the 850 sq ft duplex apartments for £143,995 (182,823). Interestingly, prices remain similar to the first phase launch. Blocks are typically three stories and upper floor units have balconies.

Some of the one beds have private gardens, and comprise a living/dining/kitchen area, , bathroom and double bedroom.. The two-bedroom apartments have an open plan living/dining area, with a balcony. The two-bed duplexes have a living/dining area and separate kitchen with two double bedrooms and a bathroom on the upper level Standard features include Gold Shield heating in apartments and natural gas in duplexes, double glazed windows and sliding patio doors to the rear garden.
