Keen prices are likely to be one of the selling points of the 57 apartments and duplex units being launched this weekend in the latest phase of Fernleigh in Castleknock, Dublin 15.

There are 19 one-bed 490 sq ft to 516 sq ft apartments from £116,000 (147,290) and 38 two-bed, 890 sq ft duplex units from £147,000 (186,650). The selling agent is Leahy Property Consultants.

Located in Riverwood, off the Carpenterstown Road, the units are arranged around two small courtyards and are within walking distance of Coolmine suburban rail station.

Designed by O'Mahony Pike Architects, another attraction of this Castlethorn Construction development is likely to be the quality of finish and the fact that all the units come with a range of kitchen appliances.

The two-bed duplex unit has a tiny hall leading into a well-designed open-plan living space with a sittingroom on one side and a kitchen/dining area on the other.

The roomy sitting area has a pine fireplace with black marble inset.

Off the dining area is a substantial decked timber patio with pagoda-style detail overhead.

The kitchen is generous with a window and Shaker-style units and is separated from the dining area by a counter.

Upstairs, the main bedroom is well proportioned with double white-panelled wardrobes and a large shower en suite with a skylight.

The second bedroom is also generous, with ample wardrobe space. The upper level also has a bathroom and a hot-press.

The smaller of the ground-floor one-bed units is 490 sq ft and is situated beneath the duplex units and is accessed from the rear. It has its own entrance and small hall, leading into an open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting area. The bathroom is a good size with a window and there is a large double bedroom.

The second show apartment is larger at 516 sq ft and of a different design in that the sitting/dining area is long and narrow.

The kitchen is Shaker style and off the sitting area are double doors to a terrace to the rear.

The bathroom appears slightly smaller than the other show apartment and the bedroom is double with, again, plenty of wardrobe space.

Viewing is Saturday and Sunday from 2:30p.m. to 5p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday from 6p.m. to 7p.m.
