Bulgari and Fornasetti
Bulgari and Fornasetti

1 Luxe Italian jewellers Bulgari has collaborated with fashion interiors house Fornasetti on the interior of the New Curiosity Shop (above), a temple to jewellery, accessories and watches on the Via del Condotti in Rome.

One wall is upholstered in butter-soft leather in a catkin-green with designs from Fornasetti’s 12-set Astronomici collection, porcelain and gold plates, 26cm wide, €310 each, suspended from brass rails against a mirrored wall. Below the platters is a statement piece by Fornasetti. The wood-printed Citta’ che si Rispecchia buffet (180cm by 45cm) has been lacquered by hand and costs €22,000. Both can be ordered direct from the Fornasetti shop in Milan. Tel: 00 39 02 8416 1374. Minima Dublin can supply similar-looking leather walls and you can add a Bulgari touch to your own table by ordering a bullnose circle of local Connemara marble to sit atop an existing table – if you need convincing take a look at how decoratively strong its use is in supporting piers in Dublin’s GPO before committing. This room is painted in a deep, historic green with the ceiling and coving picked out in a bone white so as not to feel overwhelmed by the green. Try Annie Sloan's Amsterdam green, €29.95 for one litre, from Nenagh-based Twenty Six.
